EDELSTÄHLE
Eisenhaltige Legierungen mit
mindestens 10,5% Chromium-Gehalt. Korrosionswiderstand
ist die wichtigste Eigenschaft dieser Legierungen, da
ihre Passivierungseigenschaft eine dünne, aber feste
Oxydschicht erzeugt, die das darunterliegende Material
vor Korrosion schützt.

Martensitic Iron base alloys with Chromium (11-18%) and Carbon (max 2%) with additional small quantities of other elements , capable to heighten their mechanical properties by heating at appropriate temperatures ( 950-1050C?) followed by adequate quenching. The mentioned process of quench-hardening and tempring produces a structure called martensite. Martensitic steels have magnetic properties
|
Ferritic Iron based alloys with Chromim higher than 10.5% and Carbon max. 0.15% without critical transformation points, which therefore cannot be stiffened by quench hardening but only through cold working ( cold drawing ).
Ferritic steels have magnetic attitude |
Austenitic Iron based alloys with a Chromium content between 17% and 26% and Nickel between 7% and 35 % and Carbonium 0.15% max which cannot be stiffened by quench hardening but only through cold working ( cold drawing ). Corrosion resistance ( higher if compared to other stainless steels ) and diamagnetism are their main characteristics |
Duplex Iron based alloys with Cr content higher than 16% combined with Ni( 4-6%) and Mo (1.5-3%). They match the best mechanical properties of austenitic stainless steel with a superior resitance to stress corrosion and pitting |
